Training Program

The structured instruction the franchisor provides to new franchisees covering operations, marketing, and business management.

Most franchise systems offer an initial training program that includes classroom instruction at the franchisor's headquarters and on-the-job training at an existing location or the franchisee's new unit. Training typically covers operations, technology systems, marketing, hiring, financial management, and brand standards. Item 11 of the FDD describes the training program, including its length, subjects covered, and the experience of instructors. The quality and depth of training varies significantly between franchise systems.
