Franchise Glossary

Key Personnel

The senior executives and officers of the franchisor who are responsible for managing the franchise system.

Key personnel are disclosed in Item 2 of the FDD and include the franchisor's directors, officers, and individuals with management responsibility for the franchise program. Their backgrounds, business experience, and litigation or bankruptcy history are relevant to evaluating the franchisor's leadership quality. High turnover among key personnel can indicate instability within the franchisor organization and is worth investigating further.
