Semi-Absentee Ownership
A franchise ownership model where the franchisee is not involved in day-to-day operations and hires a manager to run the business.
Semi-absentee ownership allows franchisees to maintain another career or manage multiple businesses while a hired general manager handles daily operations. Typically, the owner invests 10–20 hours per week overseeing the business. Not all franchise systems allow this model, and those that do often require the owner to be actively involved during the initial launch period. Semi-absentee models generally require more initial capital because the owner must fund a manager's salary from the start.
